Schedule: A link on the right side of the page will take you to our game schedule. The schedule has not been set yet and likely won't be until a few days before our first game. Only the first half of the season will be scheduled. Midway through the season, teams are evaluated by their coaches and the league and may by moved to a higher or lower division. For example, a JV team that is clearly slaughtering everyone they play would be moved up to Varsity. Once this is completed, the second half of the season will be scheduled. Generally, two games will be played each week, Monday through Thursday, but there will be 3-game weeks and some Friday games.
- Maximum length - 34"
- Maximum barrel diameter - 2 5/8"
- Aluminum is fine
- Wood is fine
- All composite bats MUST be BBCOR certified. If you are going out to purchase a new bat, we recommend NOT getting a composite bat, unless you will also be purchasing an aluminum or wood bat, for the following reasons: (1) Composite bats shouldn't be used below 65 degrees as they have a much greater chance of breaking - many manufacturers recommend not using them below 70 degrees. Most of the Idaho baseball season is played during cool weather. (2) Composite bats take between 100 and 200 hits to break in, before they should be used in a game. This means hits with real baseballs, not pitching-machine balls in a batting cage. (3) Price is much higher. (4)Composite bats should not typically be used as team bats.
Uniforms: The league will provide jerseys and hats for players. Players are responsible for the remainder of their gear. Each player needs:
- Mitt
- GRAY baseball pants
- RED socks
- RED belt
- Cleats - either metal or molded rubber is fine.
- Optional: underarmour or other cold-weather gear. If your player wears long-sleeved cold-gear under his baseball jersey, it cannot be white. This is a league rule for pitchers, and a good idea for other players because white makes it difficult to see the ball when it is thrown. Black or gray is preferred.
- Optional: Batting helmet. We will get some from the league so boys do not need to have their own unless they want to.
- Optional: Batting gloves. These will help prevent grip on the bat from slipping, but are not required.
- Optional: Bat. While we recommend that each boy have his own bat so that he can practice his swing at home, we encourage the boys to share their bats with teammates at practice and during games, so it is not absolutely necessary to purchase a new bat.
- Optional: Sliding shorts
Practices: Boys need to be come prepared for practice with cleats, baseball pants and mitts. If you can't make it to practice or will be late, please let us know. First practice will be Tuesday, April 2nd at 6:00 PM @ the Riverview fields near the corner of New Sweden and Canyon Roads. The calendar on the right side of this page will have all practice and game times and locations listed. See map below for practice location:
