During the game, we will be pairing up experienced score keepers with those that need to learn. The score keeper is absolutely vital to the success of a baseball team. When our teams are "home" our score keeper's book is law. When our teams are "visitors" our score keepers keep the other team honest. Additionally, we all know that baseball and stats go hand in hand. No scorebook = no stats = difficulty helping players improve and successes like base stealing and put-outs go unnoticed. SO, volunteer now to be an important part of your son's baseball season. Even if you don't feel like you know the game well enough - I promise that will change if you start keeping score.
Please contact Amy Welty and let me know which of the following categories you fit into. I need to hear from ALL PARENTS! You:
- Are an experienced score keeper and are willing to teach someone else. Many thanks for volunteering.
- Don't know how to keep score but are willing to learn. You won't regret it.
- Have a smart phone and would like to learn to score electronically. [I use a program called iScore that broadcasts a virtual game as well as keeping detailed stats - the information it provides is wonderful and the game broadcast is fun for family members that have internet access but are unable to attend games - they can watch in real time]
- Don't know how and are unwilling to learn, preferably with a really creative excuse.
- Are an experienced score keeper and unwilling to teach - excuses for this category will need to be really impressive or highly entertaining.
Thanks, in advance, for being part of the team!
